Who should consider this test?

If you suffer from the following, then the female panel of hormones test may be indicated for you:

Symptoms related to your menstrual cycle: PMS, weight gain, water retention, cravings, breast tenderness, cramping, pain
Mood changes: Anxiety, depression, irritability
Sleep problems: insomnia, waking up frequently
Fertility problems
Low energy and fatigue
Hair loss
Signs of pre-menopause: Hot flashes, vaginal dryness, changes in skin and hair, sleep and mood changes

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
This condition is associated with insulin resistance, weight gain, infertility, acne. Higher levels of testosterone and/ or DHEA is commonly implicated in this condition.

Breast Cancer
There is a pattern of hormone imbalance associated with breast cancer: high estradiol, low progesterone, high evening cortisol and low DHEAS. Checking your Estrogen Metabolism Ratio, assesses if the “good and not-so-good” breakdown products of estrogen is in the healthy range.

Bone Loss
Testosterone and estradiol help build bone while high cortisol tends to break down bone. Having high cortisol is a double-edged sword since it breaks down bone andinterferes with the bone building action of testosterone.

Heart Disease
Post-menopausal women tend to have a higher incidence of heart disease than menstruating women. While a combination of cumulative stress, lifestyle and nutrition can play a part, the progesterone and estradiol drop after menopause may also be contributing factors.

How does this test work?

This is a simple non-invasive saliva test that measures levels estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol and DHEA.
